Why Is Our History So Important?

History defines our rights and reveals our responsibilities. It is knowledge of our rights and action concerning our responsibilities that determines the quality of our freedom. Since our history has been revised and God has been removed, many of our rights have been redefined, and our irresponsibility has been revealed. The quality of our freedom has deteriorated, and the America we once knew is beginning to fade, and without knowledge of our true history will gradually disappear.

Our true history reveals the providential presence of God, but over the last eighty years, we have removed God from our government, our schools, and our history, and we, as individuals and as a nation, are witnessing the consequences. God forces Himself on no person and no nation. He goes where and when He is invited, stays where and when He is appreciated, and leaves where and when He is rejected. When God is removed from a nation, His creativity and protection depart with Him. Our history reveals the consequences of good and bad choices. It can give or withhold directions, correction, and protection depending on our knowledge or ignorance of it. When our history is ignored, forgotten, or revised and therefore never known, we lose our direction, don’t know what is correct, and are open to deception, therefore forfeiting our protection. Without knowledge of our true history, all the wisdom of our past is unknown and therefore worthless.

What are the consequences of not knowing our true history? Most people, Christians included, don’t have the slightest idea of who we once were. All they know is they don’t like who we have become and feel hopeless and helpless to change it. When it comes to knowledge of our rich Christian heritage, most people, Christians included, have been desensitized by our broken government-run public school educational system; they lack accurate knowledge of who we were, and are too paralyzed to respond to issues that are stealing our God-given rights. We have an identity crisis because of historical amnesia, and we are living a dysfunctional lifestyle as our national debt increases, because our national morals have decreased. When most people knew our true history, our moral standard determined our gold standard. Today, few people know our true history; consequently, much of our moral standards has been deleted, and as a result, our gold standard is being depleted. For the most part, the body of Christ knows little or nothing about its extraordinary American Godly heritage. Therefore, it is untrained, unequipped, and unqualified to function as the army of God and fulfill its Christian civic responsibility; as a result, we are forfeiting our rights, our authority, and consequently our freedom.

The future of America is in the hands of those who act or those who watch. What America will look like tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year will be decided by those who engage or those who stand on the sidelines as spectators. If you love your country and value your freedom, the one place you don’t want to be is on the sidelines, and the one person you don’t want to be is a spectator.

The problem our nation has encountered as a result of a lack of knowledge of our true history is that many are on the sidelines wandering aimlessly without a clue that our seldom-appreciated freedom is disappearing one right at a time. I said all of that to say this: God is raising up an army, and He requires each of us to be a part of it. Notice I did not say He suggests that we be a part of it; He requires us to be part of it for our good. This army has been taking shape for a long time. Many people throughout our nation are being trained, equipped, and qualified through accurate knowledge of our history that reveals who we were and our responsibility to maintain this miracle from God. In God's timing, they will be prepared to be part of God's army and what He plans to reveal when the time is right.

The following is a prophecy from God that clearly lays out the process:

In America, there is going to be a Godly, principled moral explosion. Soon. It will come through accurate education of who we were. Who we are now and who we long to become again. This longing will awaken, enlighten, and inspire the body of Christ to become encouraged and engaged in their full responsibility of being doers of the word and no longer hearers only, taking back what the devil has stolen. By this, they will engage God’s power, disengaging and destroying Satan’s deception, as the eyes of Christians are open wide to clearly see the lies they have believed. This will awaken and propel the body of Christ into a revival the magnitude of which the world has never seen, as the body of Christ is united into one. Believers throughout the world will be filled with God’s peace and joy as deception is removed and replaced with truth. Lies will be turned to ashes as God’s truth shines brightly. This will throw Satan into a chaotic reaction as his deceptive control is removed, causing the enactment of his end-time, last-ditch, frantic effort to take over God’s creation, all the while knowing that his days are numbered as God’s eternal kingdom is about to dawn.

Most people who hear or read this prophecy are interested in the outcome, but not the process. It behooves us to realize that the outcome will not occur without the fulfillment of the process. Most people look at the word “soon” as the key word in this prophecy. This implies that the fulfillment is God’s responsibility. When in fact the most important words are “it will come through accurate education of who we were, who we are now, and who we long to become again,” revealing that “soon” is dependent on our responsibility. I have made this as clear as I know how. The revival we desire is God’s desire, but it will require our responsibility for its fulfillment in our lives.

I am suggesting 2 books to help you gain the accurate knowledge required to fulfill your part in this prophecy.

Book #1 - Freedom Is Costly But Priceless by Dave Meyer

This book shares the amazing story of how America has regressed from being the greatest nation the world has ever seen and a beacon of hope to the world, to where it is today. It will take you through a step-by-step process of its decline and provide direction for its restoration. It is available through Amazon (link at the top of the blog).

Book #2 - America’s Providential History by Mark Beliles and Stephen McDowell

This book reveals the chronological Godly heritage of America. Before I read this book, I thought history was boring; wow, was I surprised. Yes, our history that has been revised as God has been removed is boring. Why wouldn’t it be, since the God of history has been removed from His-story? This is what is being taught in our corrupt government-run public education system. Is there any wonder why our children are desensitized? As I read America’s Providential History, history suddenly came alive, as the truth of history began to build a patriotic passion in my heart. I have never been the same since. I know one thing is for certain: I will never take freedom for granted again, now that I know the immense price that was paid for me to experience this blessing, an experience that many throughout the world can only imagine.
